LITH Students Double as Lobbyists in Springfield, Promote Technology in Schools

Martin Elementary School students went to Springfield to talk to politicians about how technology is helping them learn, according to the Northwest Herald.

Carol Johnson, a Martin Elementary School fourth-grade teacher, and three of her students traveled to Springfield this past week to demonstrate to state lawmakers the different educational programs and applications they use on tablets to learn, according to the Northwest Herald.

Martin used tablets instead of textbooks this year in its classroom and District 158 plans to expand its program next year to early elementary and middle school classrooms, according to the article.

The Northwest Herald has more on this story.
