Illinois Treasurer and Republican gubernatorial candidate Dan Rutherford denied sexual harassment allegations made against him by a former state employee, WGN reported.

The sexual harassment lawsuit was filed by Ed Michalowski, Rutherford's former director of community affairs and marketing. Michalowski alleges that Rutherford grabbed his genitals during an overnight retreat at Rutherford's Pontiac home in 2011, the Sun-Times reported.

The newspaper reported that Michalowski also alleged that in August 2011 Rutherford approached Michalowski in a Springfield bar and said “If you go home with me you can have anything you want in the office.”

Crain's reported that Rutherford held a news conference Jan. 31 stating that an employee was making false allegations against him. Michalowski resigned from Rutherford's office last week.

Fox News reported Feb. 2 that Michalowski is in debt and sought $300,000 from Rutherford. Video of the Fox report is attached to this post.

However, Fox also reported that another source backed up one of Michalowski's claims – that Rutherford pressured state employees to do political work.

Gary: I think Grampa Mike fails to understand the complexities of the world outside his microcosm and is not particularly bright on matters of the human condition. There is two sides to a story, it may prove one acted appallingly which defines my interactions with libidinallay based sick filth- they may make lame accusations about me, for the most part. The issue is weather the man who seeks to be governor of Illinois is a sex offender or his accuser is a nearly bankrupt vile lier. The real issue, in my opinion, is that politicians are noticably self serving and do not wish to propose changes that could get Illinois and America back on its feet monitarily and fiscally. At this point I think Mr. Rutherford needs to drop out of the race if he does not submit to a comprehensive lie detector test. His accuser should do the same. I think we have had enough of the criminal shanninagans that define Illinois executive branch on all levels, state, local, federal, including intelligence agencies- they are just better at sneaking around and manipulating.

Keep this simple. The report says Rutherford invited his subordinate employee, Michalowski, to his Peoria home for "an overnight retreat." That is enough for me! It reflects bad judgement if nothing else, very bad judgement to say the least. No supervisor, with any sense would do that. Enough already...I'm for someone else.
