Free Electronics Pickup Offered In LITH This Week

Items must be approved by Flood Brothers for pickup on weeks when electronics recycling is offered for free through the village.

Since 2017, Lake in the Hills residents have been able to utilize free curbside collection for most recyclable items, including electronics, batteries and florescent lights that have been approved for pickup, every other month. The service is offered through the village's garbage and recycling contractor, Flood Brothers.

Electronics will be collected curbside the following weeks:

  • The week of October 19, 2020
  • The week of December 21, 2020
  • The week of February 15, 2021
  • The week of April 19, 2021

Residents need to check with Flood Brothers to see if the items they want hauled away is available for pickup. Items will not be picked up unless residents call to confirm.

"Residents simply have to call Flood Brothers, 630-261-0578, to confirm their items for pickup and then put them out to the curb on their regular garbage day during the week the program is running," Tricia O'Donnell, administrative services manager for the village of Lake in the Hills, told Patch in an October 2020 e-mail.

More information is available on the village's website.
