Huntley Library to Give Away Kindle Fires, iPod Nano

The holiday season may be over, but the Huntley Area Public Library is still in the spirit of giving.

To promote the library’s new Freegal Downloadable Music Service, its expanding eBook collection and library card sign-up, the Huntley Area Public Library is offering library cardholders a chance to win one of two Kindle Fires or an iPod Nano, according to a library press release.

Library patrons can enter for a chance to win between now and February 29, at the library, 11000 Ruth Road. A portion of Lake in the Hills falls under the Huntley Public Library District. 

“The library has a growing eBook collection and a fantastic new music service, and we want to make sure residents know about them, while at the same time encouraging library card sign-up,” Library Director Patrick McDonald said in the release.

The new Freegal Music Service allows cardholders to download songs from the Sony Music catalog of artists. The best part, after downloading, users keep the music, the release states.

The library’s eBook collection contains everything from current bestsellers to the classics. The eBooks are available through the library website. Both services are free to cardholders, according to the release.

Huntley Library cardholders can show their library card at the check-out desk to receive a drawing ticket. Only one entry per cardholder is permitted. Library district residents who don’t have a library card can sign up for a free one by bringing in proof of residency to the library.

The drawings will be held on the following dates:

• January 31: Kindle Fire
• February 14: iPod Nano
• March 1: Kindle Fire
