Filing Period for Spring Elections Extended

Several local races for village board and school board positions will by up for election this spring.

Those intending to run for a local race in the spring will now have more time to file their election packets.

On Dec. 2, Gov. Pat Quinn approved a senate bill that extends the last day to file packets for the consolidated spring election to Dec. 26, according to a village of Algonquin news release.

Local races up for election include village board trustee positions and village president and village clerk seats in Algonquin and Lake in the Hills.
