Santa Claus is Coming to Town!

The village of Lake in the Hills will host the 2011 Festival of Trees starting at 6 p.m. tonight when Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will arrive via fire truck at village hall.

Christmas trees are decked out outside  with Santa Claus and his wife expected to make an appearance this evening for the 2011 Festival of Trees. 

The annual event kicks off at 6 p.m. with Santa and Mrs. Claus arriving on an Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Fire Department fire truck at

Visitors will be able to check out the trees decorated by area businesses and organizations outside of and vote for their favorite by placing a canned good under it. Santa and Mrs. Claus also will be available inside for pictures and to hear area children's Christmas wishes.

The trees will remain up outside until Dec. 22, and until then, people will be able to vote on their favorites. The donations from the Festival of Trees benefit the Algonquin/Lake in the Hills Interfaith Food Pantry and the Grafton Township Food Pantry.
