Election 2013: Challengers Seek Incumbents’ Seats on Algonquin, LITH Boards

Ballots shape up for April municipal elections.

 

Four candidates are running for three village trustee seats in the April 9 election in Algonquin and Lake in the Hills.

Algonquin resident Richard Flynn is running for trustee against incumbents Brian Dianis, Jerry Glogowski and Robert Smith.

Village President John Schmitt is running for reelection, as is Village Clerk Gerald Kautz. Both are unopposed.

In Lake in the Hills, a new era will begin as Village President Ed Plaza steps down. Trustee Paul Mulcahy and Bill Dustin, who holds a village commission seat, will run against each other for village president, according to the First Electric Newspaper.

Trustees Steve Harlfinger, Bob Huckins and Denise Barreto will run for reelection and Kenneth Tentler will challenge the incumbents, the online newspaper reported.
