Edgewood Drive Closed Through Most of 2012

The roadway is undergoing a full reconstruction.

For those who frequently use Edgewood Drive in Algonquin, it's time to find an alternate route. 

Construction on Edgewood Drive started last week and the roadway is currently closed to thru traffic. Edgewood Drive is expected to be closed through most of 2012, Algonquin village officials said. 

The $1.9 million project will include full reconstruction of Edgewood Drive, which is a one-mile stretch of roadway that runs from east-to-west from Hanson Road to Main Street in Algonquin.

The storm sewer will also be replaced and a along Edgewood Drive. The project will also include curb and gutter installation and replacement of the bridge and culvert at Ratt Creek. 

Algonquin Road to Hansen Road or Algonquin to Main Street should be used as an alternate route to Edgewood Road during the construction project, according to the village of Algonquin's website.
