County Clerk Expects 15 Percent of Voters to Head to Polls

This year, 1,735 voters in McHenry County and 135 in Lake in the Hills went to the polls during the early-voting session.

Less than 1 percent of registered voters in McHenry County cast their ballot during the early voting-session in recent weeks. 

This year, 1,735 voters in McHenry County went to the polls during the early-voting session, which wrapped up on Thursday, said Katherine Schultz, McHenry County Clerk, in an e-mail.

Of those voters, 135 cast their ballot at , 600 Harvest Gate, Schultz said.

This represents a small portion of the total registered voters in McHenry County, which is 202,494, and in Lake in the Hills, which is 16,688.

While early voting in the county has ended, voters will still be able to get the chance to vote on Election Day Tuesday.

Schultz is predicting a15 percent of registered voters turn-out for Tuesday's election.

"This will vary by areas depending what is on the ballot," Schultz said.
