Early Voting for Primary Starts Today

People can cast their ballot at Village Hall, 600 Harvest Gate, Lake in the Hills, as well as several other locations throughout the county.

Early voting for the upcoming primary election starts Monday and will continue through March 15.

Village Hall, 600 Harvest Gate, Lake in the Hills, as well as several other county locations will be open for voters to cast their ballots at the location most convenient for them, according to the McHenry County clerk's website. A complete list of locations and hours of operation can be found on the county's website

The primary election is March 20.

A registered voter must have a valid photo identification before voting early. Voters casting an early ballot must display a current driver’s license, a state-issued identification card or another government-issued identification with a photograph.

Voters who missed the regular registration deadline of Feb. 21 still will be able to vote if they register during the 14-day grace period.

Grace-period registration runs Feb. 22 through March 13. Grace-period voters must vote in person at the clerk's office,  2200 N. Seminary Ave., Woodstock, immediately after signing up to vote. Grace-period registrants are not allowed to vote by mail, at the polls on Election Day, or at any early voting site.

To register, you must be a U.S. citizen, 18 years old by election day and a resident of your precinct for at least 30 days prior to the election
