Here are some of the items on the Lake in the Hills Village Board agenda for tonight's meeting at 7:30 p.m. at :

Kreutzer Farmstead Plans Could Get Disc Golf Course

Village staff is requesting the village board make changes to the master plan for a park at the Kreutzer Farmstead, at 5962 Grafton Farm Drive. Since this plans were approved in October 2006, the LITH rotary has expressed an interest in installing a disc golf course to the property, a mulch path was installed and garden plots had to be moved due to poor soil conditions. Due to these changes, village staff is recommending the following updates to the plan: removing an amphitheatre from the site, removing the east parking lot, keeping a sled hill and shelter on the property and changing the location of another parking area. The sled hill location and shelter would be determined upon completion of the disc golf course.

Food Pantry Relocation

The Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Interfaith Food Pantry is requesting the village board approve plans for a move from its current location at 600 E. Oak Street to a pole barn on the "Larsen property" at 1111 Pyott Road. The approval would allow the food pantry to develop construction drawings for the new facility and begin to develop cost estimates for the project. The village gave the property to the food pantry for $1. The facility would also be used to store some of the village's public works equipment.

The village has already allocated $43,600 in its 2011 budget to assist the food pantry with its refurbishment project. If the board agrees with the new plans, the money would be used to demolish the building at 600 E. Oak St. and help renovated the pole barn on Pyott.
