The public is invited to attend an open house on Monday, September 24 at Prairie Grove Village Hall to learn about McHenry County’s ongoing efforts to create a Waterfront Neighborhoods Plan and to provide feedback.
The open house will be held from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 24 at Prairie Grove Village Hall, 3125 Barreville Road in Prairie Grove. Presentations will be held at 5:30 and 7 p.m.
The goal of the plan is to examine how current County zoning and development regulations affect some of the County’s earliest unincorporated neighborhoods, and to provide recommendations for the revision of County ordinances to improve these neighborhoods and the quality-of-life for residents within them.
Presentations on how the County could modify its zoning regulations for unincorporated neighborhoods located adjacent to water bodies, such as those along the Fox River, Pistakee Lake, Wonder Lake, and McCullom Lake, will be made by the County’s consultant on this project, Camiros.
The firm will present their research, and discuss findings as they relate to lot sizes and conditions within these areas.
