Algonquin’s Fall Harvest Day Schedule Announced

The Downtown Algonquin Partnership will be holding its annual Fall Harvest Day event on Saturday, October 12. 

The event will take place in Cornish Park following the Village of Algonquin’s Harvest Hustle 5K Walk and feature historic walks of Old Town, kids crafts, vendors, and much more!  The current schedule of events includes the following:

• 8:00 a.m.: Event Begins
• 8:00 a.m.: Harvest Hustle 5K Walk
• 10:00 a.m.: Old Town Algonquin Historic Walk
• 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.: Pumpkin Carver Demonstration
• 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.: Live music from HairDaze
• 12:00 p.m.: Rebecca McCarthy School of Dance Irish Dancers
• 1:00 p.m.: Halloween Costume Parade
• 3:00 p.m.: Event Ends 

Registration for the Harvest Hustle 5K Walk is available in advance online at www.algonquin.org/recreation, or on the day of the event (October 12) at Cornish Park, 101 South Harrison Street, beginning at 7:30 a.m.  The walk begins promptly at 8:00 a.m.  

The registration cost is $15 for those over 15 years of age and $7 for those between 6 and 14 years of age.  Participants 5 and under are free.

This walk will benefit "Recreation for ALL-gonquin," a scholarship program designed to provide opportunity for Algonquin youth to participate in recreation.  

Gather your family and friends and head out to support this great cause.  All pre-registered walkers will receive a t-shirt for participating.
