  • The Algonquin Special Liquor Commission OK'd a liquor license Tuesday evening for Theresa and Mariano Scandurra, owners of La Trattoria, which . The Italian restaurant formerly had been located in a strip mall at Lakewood and Ackman roads in Lake in the Hills. to 1748 S. Randall Road, Algonquin. 
  • The Algonquin Village Board voted 6-0 to approve the 2012-13 village budget.
  • Village President John Schmitt presented Village Manager William Ganek with a plaque to recognize that, as of this month, Ganek has been working as the village manager for 20 years in Algonquin. He credited Ganek with successfully handling extreme residential and commercial growth in the area during the past two decades and for having a balanced budget every year. Ganek expressed gratitude for the recognition. "I have the best staff and best community a village manager can have. And the best elected officials," said Ganek during Tuesday's meeting.
