Algonquin Road Intersection Gets Modified Traffic Signal; Minor Delays Expected Thursday Morning

The McHenry County Division of Transportation will be implementing modifications to the traffic signals at the intersection of Algonquin Road and Hansen/Hilltop roads.

With the hopes of improving the safety at one area intersection, the McHenry County Division of Transportation will modify a traffic signal at Algonquin and Hansen/Hilltop roads Thursday morning to include a green left turn arrow. 

Crews are expected to be out at the intersection between 9 a.m. and noon Thursday installing new traffic signal equipment, according to a McHenry County DOT press release. Minor delays are expected. 

Once the modifications are completed, motorists will be able to turn left on a green arrow, according to a press release. The purpose is to improve safety at the busy interesection.

Message boards have been placed near the intersection to alert motorists to any changes, according to the news release.

Similar changes were made and the intersection of Randall and Miller roads in 2010.
