Algonquin Hosts e-Waste Recycling Event in May

The event will be held on May 5 at the Public Works Facility, 110 Meyer Drive in Algonquin, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

At the beginning of 2012, the Illinois Electronic Products Recycling and Reuse Act banned certain types of electronics such as televisions, monitors, computers, laptops, electronic mice and many other common electronic items you may have in your home from being disposed of in Illinois landfills.

Accordingly, the Village of Algonquin has expanded its e-waste recycling program to offer two events annually.  These events offer residents the opportunity to recycle electronics at no charge.

Continuing the Village's partnership with Vintage Tech Recyclers, the first event in 2012 will be held on May 5 at the Public Works Facility, 110 Meyer Drive, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. This event will be open to all Village of Algonquin residents (proof of residency required).
