Sheriff: Woman Struck Boyfriend in Head with Hammer

Cali L. Sander, 27, of Holiday Hills, was arrested and charged with one count aggravated domestic battery and one count aggravated battery, according to the sheriff's office.

A Holiday Hills woman early Monday morning bit her boyfriend and then hit him over the head with a hammer, rendering him unconscious, according to McHenry County Sheriff Keith Nygren.

Cali L. Sander, 27, 1206 W. Sunset Dr., was arrested and charged with one count aggravated domestic battery and one count aggravated battery, Nygren said in a press release.

At about 5 a.m., sheriff officers responded to the 1200 block of West Sunset Road, Holiday Hills, to a domestic battery report.

Upon arriving at the home, sheriff deputies met the male victim who said Sander bit him on the arm and hit him on the head with hard object, Nygren said. Sander was not home when deputies arrived.

Evidence at the scene and a subsequent investigation indicated Sander struck her boyfriend in the head with a hammer, Nygren said.

The victim was transported to Centegra Hospital in McHenry, where he was treated and released.

Sander was later taken into custody and transported to the McHenry County Correctional Facility. Her bond was set at $40,000, and she is scheduled to appear in court Dec. 12, Nygren said.

Either he punched her a few times (which is not reported) or she's on meth. I'll say this though, I wouldn't doubt that she attacked him first. She looks crazy. When a woman attacks you, are you suppose to just 'take it'? A hammer to the head can kill you.
