Weekend Blotter: Drunken Driving Arrests, Assault

The Lake in the Hills Police Department responded to several different calls over the past weekend.

The responded to the following calls from the weekend:

Drunken Driving Arrest Early Saturday

A 20-year-old Huntley man was pulled over in the area of Algonquin Road and Harvest Gate around 2:19 a.m. Saturday, according to LITH Police Department's daily bulletin. He was arrested and later released on bond and faces charges for driving under the influence, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, not wearing his seatbelt and improper lane usage. Two other teens, a 19-year-old Lake in the Hills man and 15-year-old Crystal Lake boy, were also cited by police for violations. The LITH man was cited for illegal consumption of alcohol and the Crystal Lake teen was cited for curfew violation and released to his parents, according to the daily bulletin.

Police Make Drug-Related Arrests

A 16-year-old Lake in the Hills boy and an 18-year-old Chicago man face charges for drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia following an incident late Saturday that occurred near the intersection of Algonquin Road and Crystal Lake Road. The LITH teen was cited for possession of cannabis (less than 2.5 grams) and released to his guardian.  The Chicago man faces charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, obstructed registration and for not having any valid insurance and was later released on bond, according to the LITH Police Department's daily bulletin.

Hit and Run at Costco

An unknown vehicle struck a sign in a median at 250 N. Randall Road, around 1:21 a.m. Saturday, and then drove away, according to LITH Police Department's daily bulletin.

Small Structure Fire on Winslow Way

Police responded to a small electrical fire in the 300 block of Winslow Way around 6:33 a.m. Saturday to take a report for insurance purposes, according to the police department's daily bulletin. The siding on the rear of the residence was damaged by the blaze.

Water Pipe Bursts, Damages Townhome

The Lake in the Hills Police Department responded to the first block of Sierra Court around 7:12 a.m. Saturday for a report of a water pipe that broke on the second floor of townhome, flooding the residence, according to the department's daily bulletin.

Crystal Lake Man Arrested for Drunken Driving

A 21-year-old Crystal Lake man was arrested around 2:05 a.m. Sunday for reportedly driving while under the influence of alcohol, according to the LITH Police Department's daily bulletin. The man was pulled over near the intersection of Randall Road and McHenry Avenue when he failed to yield while turning left, according to the bulletin.

Battery Reported at Morretti's

Police were called to Moretti's, 220 N. Randall Road, around 1:37 a.m. Sunday for a report of two men fighting, according to the daily bulletin.

Battery Reported at Costco

The police were called to Costco, 250 N. Randall Road, around 11:34 a.m. Sunday after one man allegedly threw a lighter at another man at the store, according to the daily bulletin.

Police Investigate Assault on Hillsboro Lane

The Lake in the Hills Police Department is investigating an assault complaint made by a woman who said she was approached by a man in her driveway in the 2800 block of Hillsboro Lane, according to the department's daily bulletin. The complaint was filed around 5:55 p.m. Sunday.
