Two Men Charged with Burglary, Theft in Unincorporated Algonquin

The McHenry County Sheriff's Office was able to recover several items belonging to the victim.

An Algonquin man and a Schaumburg man have been charged with residential burglary and theft in unincorporated Algonquin, according to a news release from the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.

Ivan Suski, 20, of the 9700 block of Zimmer Drive, Algonquin, and Tedi Vasili, 26, of the 1900 block of Prairie Square, Schaumburg, were each charged with residential burglary, a Class 1 felony, and a Class 3 theft felony.

On Jan. 2, a resident in the 9700 block of Zimmer Drive, Algonquin, reported that while away, someone had broken into his home and had stolen electronics, jewelry and money.

Through their investigation, the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division learned that Suski and Vasili were involved in the incident. Suski was arrested Jan. 5 and Vasili was arrested Jan. 18. Police were able to recover several items belonging to the victim.

Suski remains in the McHenry County Adult Correctional Facility and Vasili is free on bond.

Sheriff Keith Nygren is reminding residents that the sheriff’s office is available to conduct extra patrols to residences while homeowners are away for extended periods of time.
