Top Ten Sheriff's Office Fugitive Arrested

Deonte Baugh, 25, of Woodstock, was arrested Monday. Baugh was listed on McHenry County's Top 10 Most Wanted list.

A 25-year-old Woodstock man listed on McHenry County's Top Ten Most Wanted Fugitives report was arrested on Monday, according to a McHenry County Sheriff's Office press release. 

The sheriff's office said Deonte Baugh was wanted by the Woodstock Police Department for aggravated arson. Police said Baugh was involved in starting a structure fire in Woodstock in April 2013, according to the news release. 

On Sept. 17, investigators from the Woodstock Police Department obtained an arrest warrant for Baugh. The Woodstock Police Department contacted the Sheriff’s Office Apprehension Unit for assistance with apprehending Baugh.

A fugitive investigation was initiated and information was obtained that Baugh had fled McHenry County to avoid capture. Baugh was then added to the sheriff’s office Top Ten most wanted list.

On Sept. 30 around 12 p.m., the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Apprehension Unit working with members of the U.S. Marshal Service Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force took Baugh into custody without incident in Riverdale.

Baugh was transferred to the Cook County Correctional Facility pending transfer to the McHenry County Correctional Facility. A $100,000 bond has been set.
