Top Ten Fugitive Wanted by Algonquin Police and Sheriff Arrested

Brandon A. Williams, 21, was wanted by the Algonquin Police Department for allegedly sexually abusing and choking a girl.

A Milwaukee man wanted on warrant for sexually abusing and choking a juvenile girl was apprehended Wednesday.

Brandon A. Williams, 21, 5730 95th St., Milwaukee, was arrested May 22, by Sheriff’s investigators along with the U.S. Marshal Service Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force from Chicago and Milwaukee, according to McHenry County Sheriff Keith Nygren.

Williams was wanted by Algonquin Police and on the McHenry County Sheriff's Top Ten Fugitive list. He was wanted on a warrant of arrest for one count aggravated criminal sexual abuse and one count of aggravated battery, Nygren stated in a press release.

Williams also was wanted by the Kane County Sheriff’s Office on two separate narcotics arrest warrants, and by the Cook County Sheriff’s Office for a traffic arrest warrant, according to the release.

Officers took Williams into custody without incident in Milwaukee.

On Nov. 8, 2012, the Algonquin Police Department obtained an arrest warrant for Williams as a result of an alleged sexual abuse and choking of a juvenile female, Nygren said.

Numerous attempts to locate Williams by the Algonquin Police Department and the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office were unsuccessful. He was then considered a fugitive.

On December 4, 2013, looking for assistance from the public, Williams was added to the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office "Most Wanted Top Ten" webpage, and later on Dec. 17, 2013, added to Comcast’s Police Blotter Most Wanted.

On May 14, 2013, the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Apprehension Unit received information Williams was currently living in the Milwaukee area. Investigators were able to locate an area where Williams was residing.

Williams was transported to the Milwaukee County Jail in Milwaukee and is currently awaiting extradition back to Illinois.
