Crystal Lake Man Among 3 Charged in Wauconda Apartment Shooting

The men were arrested late Wednesday night, according to media reports.

Police said three alleged gang members are in custody over accusations that they shot a 26-year-old man in his girlfriend's Wauconda apartment following an argument Sunday night, according to the Daily Herald. 

John A. Nava, 19, of Niles; Noe J. Brito-Ramirez, 22, of Crystal Lake; and Jose A. Dominquez-Eleperez, 26, of Wheeling, are charged with four counts of home invasion, and a single count of aggravated discharge of a firearm and aggravated battery of a firearm, according to the article. 

In addition, Dominquez-Eleperez faces an attempted murder charge for accusations that he fire the gun and the victim around 8:30 p.m. at the apartment in the 100 block of Main Street, the Daily Herald reports.

ORIGINAL ARTICLE: Local police are searching for the shooter accused of shooting a 26-year-old man on Sunday around 8:30 p.m. in the victim's second-floor apartment on south Main Street in Wauconda, according to the Daily Herald. 


The man is in stable conditionfollowing the shooting, according to the Daily Herald. 

Police are searching for three suspects who they say fled the scene in a dark-colored following the shooting, according to ABC7 Chicago. Police have not released any descriptions regarding the suspects and also have not identified the shooting victim as of Monday morning, according to the article. 

The Chicago Tribune reports the incident began as a home invasion after the suspects forced their way into the man's apartment. Police continue to investigate a motive in the shooting.
