Suspect in Crystal Lake Double Stabbing Captured

Man wanted in Crystal Lake double stabbing captured in Alabama.

The 30-year-old man wanted in a July 2 double stabbing that left a Crystal Lake couple in critical condition has been captured.

Jimmy Bell Jr., of Elgin, was arrested in Tuscaloosa Alabama by members of the U.S. Marshal's Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force, police said.

Bell has been wanted since Crystal Lake police found a couple stabbed and seriously injured at 4:17 a.m. July 2 in the 1500 block of Isle Royal Circle. A 28-year-old woman and her 23-year-old boyfriend had each been stabbed multiple times.

Police have described the what happened as an incident of domestic violence. Bell was wanted on two counts of attempted murder.

Bell was arrested at 1 p.m. Monday July 8. Police said that Bell had family in Alabama. Police said that Bell was taken into custody without incident and is being held in the Tuscaloosa County Jail.

The 28-year-old woman has been released from the hospital. The 23-year-old man is in stable condition still recovering from his wounds at an area hospital.
