A Spring Grove woman was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol on Thursday after her car struck another vehicle parked on the roadway.
Amanda Ducat, 28, of the 37000 block of Dewey, was charged Jan. 2, with DUI, according the McHenry County Sheriff's Office. Ducat had a juvenile passenger in the car at the time of the accident, police said.
Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a single car crash involving injuries at 6:25 p.m. in the 6800 block of State Park Road.
Ducat, the driver, had struck a vehicle parked alongside the road. The investigation by deputies revealed that Ducat appeared to be under the influence of medications and drugs, the Sheriff's office stated in a news release.
Ducat’s vehicle had also been called into Fox Lake Police Department as a possible DUI driver earlier that evening.
The Spring Grove Fire Protection District responded to provide medical treatment to Ducat and the one juvenile passenger. Both the passenger and Ducat were transported to Centegra McHenry Hospital for evaluation of their minor injuries.
Bond for Ducat was set at $3,000. She is awaiting a court date.
