Sheriff: Woodstock Mom Charged with Endangerment

Investigation conducted after McHenry County Sheriff's office alerted about conditions in woman's home.

A Woodstock mom of three - whose home lacked hot water and a working toilet - was arrested for endangering her children, McHenry County Sheriff’s investigators said.

Jennifer L. Frogge, 31, 13620 Kishwaukee Valley Road, faces three misdemeanor charges of endangering the life or health of a child, according to the sheriff’s office. Frogge was arrested Wednesday and was released after posting $2,000 bond.

If convicted, she could face up to a year in county jail or probation.

The sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division and the Department of Children and Family Services were alerted about conditions in the home in February.

Investigators searched the Woodstock home, with Frogge’s consent, and discovered sanitary issues, according to authorities. The Woodstock Fire Protection District was called and the home was “Red Tagged” meaning parts of the home were uninhabitable, Undersheriff Andrew Zinke said.

Frogge failed to provide her children with hot water and a working toilet, Zinke said.

The three children were placed with their father who did not live in the home. An investigation had been ongoing, culminating in Frogge’s arrest this week.
