Police: Teen Found With Gun, Damages Car With Bat

The teen faces several charges for incident early Saturday morning.

A 19-year-old Lake in the Hills man faces felony counts of aggravated battery, criminal damage to property and multiple other offenses following a early Saturday morning incident.

The man allegedly took a baseball bat to his girlfriend’s car in the 100 block of Polaris Drive, said Sgt. Terri Vollmer of the Lake in the Hills Police Department. The subject then got into a fight with a man who was at the home.

The alleged offender left the scene and was stopped by police. Police determined he was driving under the influence of alcohol.  When police searched the car, they found a gun, said Vollmer.

The man was arrested and faces charges of aggravated battery, aggravated assault, damage to property over $300, fleeing and eluding a police officer, illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor, driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal possession of a firearm without a valid FOID card, reckless driving and improper lane usage.

He was taken to the McHenry County Jail.
