Police Seek Suspect in Armed Robbery

Police said a man entered the Chemung Citgo gas station, 24102 Illinois Route 173 in Chemung around 1:55 a.m. on Sept. 16.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office and Crime Stoppers of McHenry County is seeking the public's help in identifying a suspect in an armed robbery that occurred on Sept. 16 in unincorporated Harvard. 

Police said a man entered the Chemung Citgo gas station, 24102 Illinois Route 173 in Chemung around 1:55 a.m. on Sept. 16. The male subject was armed with a large knife and demanded money from the employee, according to a McHenry County Sheriff's Office press release. 

The man then fled the scene eastbound on foot with an undetermined amount of money, according to the news release.

The man is described as being approximately 5’8” tall with average build and was wearing a black hooded jacket or sweatshirt, black pants, red gloves and his face was painted white, black, and red, according to the news release.
