Algonquin Woman Charged with Assault, 2 Arrested for Domestic Battery

Domestic Battery 

Josette E. Mendez, 26, of the 1200 block of Riverwood Dr., Algonquin, was arrested at 5:53 p.m. Dec. 29, and charged with two counts of domestic battery. She posted $500 and was released. She is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 10. 

Terrance M. Borowski, 58, of Hickory Lane, Algonquin, was arrested at 5:54 p.m. Dec. 31, and charged with two counts of domestic battery. He was transported to the McHenry County Jail in Woodstock to await a bond hearing. 

Hit and Run

Janis J. Strauss, 62, of Cambridge Ct., Cary, was arrested at 6:44 p.m. Dec. 31, and charged with hit and run, driving while license revoked, failure to yield right of way at an intersection and no insurance. She was taken into custody at Route 31 and Klasen Road. She posted $150 bond and was released. She is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 5. 

Aggravated Assault

Sharon L. Bohlmann, 53, of the 1300 block of Glacier Parkway, Algonquin, was arrested at 9:12 p.m. Jan. 1, and charged with aggravated assault. She posted $150 bond and was released with a court date of Feb. 5. 

Criminal Trespass

A 16-year-old Algonquin boy was arrested at 11:15 a.m. Jan. 2, and charged with criminal trespassing. He was taken into custody at 451 Rolls Drive. He was referred to the Tri County Peer Jury and released to his parents. 

Retail Theft

Virginia Waychoff, 49, of the 1000 block of Park Avenue, Wauconda, was arrested at 7:44 p.m. Jan. 2, and charged with retail theft. She was taken into custody at 734 S. Randall Rd., and transported to the McHenry County Jail to await a bond hearing.
