Police Look for Suspect in Attempted Robbery

The attempted robbery happened at Sunrise Food and Liquor on Oct. 4.

The below information came from a McHenry County Sheriff's Office press release. 

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office and Crime Stoppers of McHenry County is seeking the community’s assistance in identifying an attempted robbery suspect. 

On October 4 at 10:21 p.m., the subject attempted to commit a robbery at the Sunrise Food and Liquor located at 5313 E. Wonder Lake Road, Wonder Lake Illinois.

The man entered Sunrise Food and Liquor and told an employee that he wanted money but not show a weapon to employees. 

The man exited the store on foot without any money or goods. He is described as being a soft spoken male white, approximately 5’6” tall, weighing more than 230 pounds.

He was wearing black shoes having white soles along with a white stripe on the side, faded blue jeans which were torn in the front/back and rolled at the ankles, a brown hooded sweatshirt with front pockets having G-Unit on the front, and marked with brass knuckles and skulls.

He was also wearing a pair of black sunglasses and a gold colored bandana on his face.

The Sheriff’s Office requests that anyone with information regarding this investigation contact either the McHenry County Crime Stoppers Tip Line at 1-800-762-STOP (7867), the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Tip Line at (815) 338-2144, or the tip line email address: TipLine@co.mchenry.il.us. 

Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000.00 for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the offender(s). Crime Stoppers does not use caller ID.
