Police: LITH Woman Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash

A LITH woman was transported to Sherman Hospital after a two-car accident on May 23.

A 30-year-old Lake in the Hills woman was injured in a a two-car accident near Pyott and Algonquin roads on May 23.

The crash occurred around 5:51 p.m. on May 23. The woman was traveling east in a Chevrolet Cruze on Algonquin Road before coming to a stop west of Pyott Road near the stoplight intersection.

The woman’s vehicle was struck from behind by a Chevrolet Lumina sedan driven by a 20-year-old Lake Zurich man, said Sgt. Eric Decker of the Lake in the Hills Police Department. Police filed charges against that man, Martin Schuler, for failure to reduce speed for an accident.

As a result of the accident, the woman suffered "incapacitating injuries" and was transported to Sherman Hospital in Elgin. She has since been released, said Michelle Howe, marketing specialist for Sherman Hospital.
