LITH Man Charged With Threatening Girlfriend, Fleeing Police

Victor Bratz was charged with five felony and five misdemeanor counts earlier this week in connection with an early Sunday morning incident.

A 39-year-old Lake in the Hills man faces several felony charges after using a knife to threaten his pregnant girlfriend and then fleeing police while under the influence of alcohol, police said Wednesday.

Victor A. Bratz was charged earlier this week in McHenry County Court with five felony charges, including aggravated domestic battery and aggravated fleeing, and five misdemeanor charges.

All of the charges stem from an incident reported around 12:54 a.m. Sunday at Bratz’s home in the 2300 block of Wexford Lane, according to the Lake in the Hills Police Department’s daily bulletin.

Bratz is accused of using a knife to threaten his girlfriend and then fleeing their home after she called the police, said Sgt. Eric Decker of the LITH Police Department.

One officer attempted to pull Bratz over but he kept driving. Two officers then stationed themselves at the end of Bratz’s road.

Bratz eventually returned to the home and when officers went to arrest him, Bratz is accused of kicking one officer twice in the chest, Decker said.

Bratz was taken into custody and is believed to have been intoxicated when he fled the home, Decker told Patch earlier this week.

In connection with the incident, Bratz was charged Monday with: aggravated unlawful restraint, aggravated domestic battery, aggravated battery with police, aggravated driving under the influence with a license that was suspended or revoked, aggravated fleeing/21 miles per hour over, domestic battery-physical contact, criminal trespassing to vehicles, aggravated assault/deadly weapon, interfering with reporting of a domestic violence and resisting a peace officer.
