Police Blotter: DUI, Underage Drinking, Domestic Disputes

Lake in the Hills Police release reports for Jan. 4 to 7.

 

DUI

Octavio Salinas, 44, 817 Bishop St., West Chicago, was arrested at 6:53 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 6, in the area of Algonquin Road and Talaga Drive on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, following too close and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Salinas was released on bond, police said.

Underage Drinking

A 16-year-old Lake in the Hills boy was arrested at 7:54 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, in the 1000 block of Heavens Gate on charges of consumption of alcohol by a minor. The boy was issued a notice to appear in court and released to a parent, police said.

Driving on Revoked License

Eric S. Sorenson, 29, 111 Jefferson St. Apt. B, Algonquin, was arrested at 11:02 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, at Super Wash, 2200 W. Algonquin Rd., on charges of driving while license revoked. Sorenson was released on bond.

Ambulance Calls

Police were called to the 2400 block of Wexford Lane at 10:58 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, to assist with an eight-month-old baby who was possible choking. The baby did not need to be transported for additional care, police said.

At 1:37 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 4, police were called to a residence in the 5700 block of Foxfield Lane to assist with a 22-month-old baby who had an allergic reaction. The baby was transported to Sherman Hospital in Elgin, police said.

Police and emergency personnel were called at 12:19 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, to Marlowe Middle School, 9625 Haligus Rd., to assist a 12-year-old boy who injured his arm. The boy was transported to Centegra Hospital in Woodstock.

Domestic Disputes

Police responded at 8:03 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, to the 300 block of Council Trail to a verbal dispute between a husband and wife. Police had been called one time prior to the same residence.

At 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 4, police were called to a residence in the 100 block of Village Creek Drive to respond to a verbal dispute between a boyfriend and girlfriend.

Police were called at 3:38 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 6, to a residence in the 1100 block of Halfmoon Gate to assist with a verbal argument between a mother and a son. Police have been called to the home five previous times, police said.

Police were called at 6:27 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 7, to a residence in the 200 block of Wander Way to assist with a verbal dispute between a husband and a wife.

Missing Juvenile

Police were called at 10:26 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 6, to a residence in the 100 block of Village Creek Drive. Police picked up a missing juvenile out of Elgin. The child was released to a parent, police said.

Lost

A wallet containing a Michigan drivers license was reported missing at 11:40 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 4, from Dominick’s grocery store, 101 N. Randall Rd.

Theft

Staff at Costco, 229 N. Randall Rd. reported at 12:29 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 4, that a generator had been stolen from the store. The value of the generator was not listed.

Two large orange barricades were reported stolen at 7:53 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, by staff at Marlowe Middle School, 9625 Haligus Rd. The items were believed to be stolen sometime during winter break, police said.

Accidents

Police responded at 4:44 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 4, to the area of Algonquin Road and Hilltop Drive to the scene of a two-car accident. Property damage was reported. No injuries were involved, police said.

Police were called at 9:38 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 5, to the area of Lakewood and Algonquin roads to assist with a two-car accident. Property damage was reported. No injuries were involved, police said.

Warrant Arrest

A 13-year-old Lake in the Hills boy was arrested at 7:32 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 5, in the 5000 block of Crossview Lane. Police said the juvenile was wanted on an arrest warrant. The boy was transported to Lake County Juvenile Detention Center, police said.
