Police: Avoid Travel on Rakow Road

Traffic accidents on James R. Rakow Road has caused a traffic back up between McHenry Avenue and Pyott Road.

The Crystal Lake Police Department is asking motorists to avoid travel on Rakow Road near Pyott Road following several traffic crashes in that area, according to a police department e-mail notification.

Traffic was backed up and the road was down to one lane Monday afternoon. Police were directing traffic in that area.

Alternate route available to Route 31 from Randall Road are Route 62 and McHenry Avenue, according to the notification.
