Police: 3 Algonquin House Fires in Less Than Week Investigated as Arson

Three house fires occurred within close proximity of each other in less than a week in Algonquin.

Police are investigating three fires that occurred at Algonquin homes in less than week and all within a block of each other, referring to the blazes as arson, according to the Daily Herald. 

Authorities said the situation is suspicious but its unclear at this point if the fires are related, the Daily Herald reports. Police said the fires are being investigated as arson since its unclear what caused the blazes. 

The latest blaze was reported at 345 Crestwood Court Wednesday night. Firefighters responded to the home at 11:40 p.m. after the homeowner called dispatch to report smoke and flames coming from the home's deck (read more here). 

Another blaze was reported on Saturday, May 24, about 12:30 a.m. at 370 Glenwood Court. Dispatch was notified by a neighbor who discovered smoke and flames coming from the rear of the home (read more here). 

A third fire was reported early Saturday at 320 Crestwood Court in Algonquin. Dispatch was notified by the homeowner who discovered smoke and flames coming from the deck attached to the rear of the home (read more here).
