The Lake in the Hills Police Department was called to , 9341 Pyott Road, at 9:22 p.m. on Aug. 2 for a report of playground equipment on fire.
The fire's origin was unknown, and the blaze remained under investigation, according to a Aug. 4 Northwest Herald article.
As of Monday afternoon, the playground equipment was closed off to the public. Police tape lined the perimeter of the play area.
