No New Details in Apartment Fire

The Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District responded to an apartment fire and called in assistance from several neighboring communities.

has not released further details regarding an early Saturday morning fire at the Silo Glen Apartment complex, 325 Tecumseh Trail. 

The fire district issued a press release Saturday stating that the department responded to the three-building apartment complex at 2:44 a.m. after the building's fire alarm system had sounded. The complex is located off Pyott Road. 

All residents in the building were safely evacuated, and no injuries were reported, the press release said.

Fire officials said an initial investigation into the blaze determined the fire started from overcooked food burning on a stove in a third-story unit.

Fire inspectors allowed many residents to return to their units. However, damage was listed as "significant" to the apartment where the fire started, according to the press release.

The fire department did not have a monetary estimate of the damage.

Fire departments from Crystal Lake, Carpentersville, Marengo, Wauconda and Huntley assisted with fighting the blaze.
