McHenry Sheriffs Office and Local Police Roundup 39 Wanted on Warrants

Police cooperation results in most successful roundup of people wanted on outstanding warrants to date.

Four Lake in the Hills residents were among 39 individuals arrested on outstanding warrants on March 3, in a one-day roundup led by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Apprehension Unit.

“This is probably the most successful roundup we’ve had to date,” said Sgt. Anthony Penna, of the Apprehension Unit.

Penna said the unit organizes roundups about three or four times per year in an attempt to address the large number of outstanding warrants in McHenry County.  He said the success of this particular roundup is due to preliminary investigations into the alleged offenders addresses.

He said people wanted on warrants often try to hide their addresses.

“Our job is to find them,” Penna said. Officers were successful in finding and arresting 39 of 65 subjects they went after.
