McHenry Man Faces Charges Following 3-Hour Standoff Saturday

Police closed a portion of Route 120 in McHenry during the three-hour standoff Saturday, according to the Daily Herald.

A McHenry man faces several charges following a three-hour standoff Saturday that began after police responded to a disturbance on the 3400 block of West Elm Street about 3:11 a.m. and found a man who cut with a knife during a fight, according to the Daily Herald. 


The man who cut him, Jesse J. Ocampo, 22, climbed to the roof of the two-story building, refused to come down and used his knife to threaten officers and rip of porcelain roofing tiles, which he threw from the building, according to the article. He came down about 6:11 a.m. and was taken into custody, according to the Daily Herald.
