A technology department employee at Marlowe Middle School has been arrested for stealing computer tablets valued at $3,500.

Robert E. King, 21, of 611 Grace Dr., Lake in the Hills, was arrested by LITH Police at 4:48 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14.

King was charged with theft from a school, according to LITH Police arrest reports.

Police said King has worked at Marlowe Middle School, located at 9625 Haligus Rd., for the past 12 months. King is accused of stealing seven KUNO-4 tablets from the school sometime between Dec. 1-10, said Sgt. Ted Ziarkowski.

The tablets are valued at $500 each, Ziarkowski said.

Police said King took the computer tablets and sold all of them to one individual. King apparently did not think anyone at the school would notice the items missing, police said.

After his arrest, King was transported to the McHenry County Jail in Woodstock.
