Man Arrested for Pushing Police Officer

The LITH Police Department arrested the man at Berquist Marine Center.

A 38-year-old homeless man faces charges for shoving a Lake in the Hills Police Department officer Monday.

James D. Zick was arrested at , 8415 Route 31, around 3:34 p.m., said Sgt. Eric Decker of the LITH Police Department.

When a LITH Police Department officer attempted to arrest Zick at Berquist Marine, he became resistant, and the officer used pepper spray to contain Zick and Zick proceeded to shove the officer, said Sgt. Ted Ziarkowski of the LITH Police Department.

The officer was not injured, Decker said.

Zick was charged Tuesday with felony aggravated battery to a peace officer and misdemeanor charges of retail theft and resisting a peace officer.
