Man Arrested For Domestic, Drunken Driving, Fleeing, Resisting Arrest

The incident was reported in the 2300 block of Wexford Lane early Sunday.

A 39-year-old Lake in the Hills man accused in a domestic battery was arrested early Sunday after allegedly fleeing police while intoxicated and resisting arrest.

Police were first called to the man’s house in the 2300 block of Wexford Lane around 12:54 a.m. Sunday by his girlfriend, who also lived at the residence.

When nearing the home, an officer saw the man leaving and tried to pull him over but the man kept driving, said Sgt. Eric Decker of the Lake in the Hills Police Department.

Officers then checked on the girlfriend who called in the domestic battery, Decker said. She did not report any injuries and was not taken to the hospital, Decker said.

Police officers then stationed themselves near the home. Soon the man, whose name is being withheld until formal charges are filed in McHenry County Court, returned to the home.

Police went to arrest him, and he then tried to resist police officers, Decker said.  He was eventually taken into custody and brought to the McHenry County Jail.

Police have filed the following charges with the court against the man: aggravated unlawful restraint, aggravated domestic battery-bodily harm, domestic battery, criminal trespass to motor vehicle, aggravated battery to a peace officer, aggravated assault, unlawful interference with the reporting of domestic violence, aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a revoked drivers license, resisting a peace Officer, aggravated fleeing and eluding, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.
