Local Man Arrested for Aggravated Sexual Abuse

Police have arrested a 55-year-old McHenry man on two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse for accusations that he sexually abused two family members, according to a press release from the McHenry County Sheriff's Office. 

Police arrested Thomas R. McAuliffe on Wednesday following a joint investigation with the Twin Lakes Police Department after police received information from the victims, according to the news release. Police say the victims, who were minors, were sexually abuse several times between 2009 and 2012. 

Sheriff’s investigators obtained an arrest warrant for McAuliffe and placed him into custody without incident, according to the news release. A $40,000 bond was issued for McAuliffe. He is next expected in court on Nov. 15 at 9 a.m.
