Lake in the Hills Police announced the results of the Memorial Day campaign and warns motorists of the upcoming Independence Day enforcement.
The Lake in the Hills Police conducted the Memorial Day enforcement campaign from May 9th thru May 26th. During that campaign the Lake in the Hills Police expended fifty six hours of overtime enforcement with funding obtained from the Illinois Department of Transportation “STEP Grant”
In that fifty six hours of enforcement the Lake in the Hills Police issued forty eight citations for violations of the Illinois vehicle code. Three drivers were arrested for operation of a motor vehicle while intoxicated and one driver was arrested for operation of a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license.
Lake in the Hills Police will conduct the next enforcement campaign over the Independence Day Holiday, June 23rd thru July 6th.
This law enforcement crackdown is funded by federal traffic safety grants through IDOT’s Division of Traffic Safety and is part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns.
