LITH Men Arrested for Battery; Golf Course Damaged

Lake in the Hills Police responded to several reports Sunday.

Two Lake in the Hills men face battery charges following a Sunday morning fight at a home in the 5300 block of Briarfield Lane.

Police responded to the residence after a call about a domestic dispute between Anothony A. Cozzi, 21, and his girlfriend, according to Lake in the Hills police. 

Paul Cada, 45, is accused of striking Cozzi. Cozzi was taken to an area hospital for evaluation. Both men and the girlfriend lived together in the Briarfield Lane home.

Cada was charged Monday with domestic battery and domestic battery bodily harm, accoridng to online court records. 

Cozzi was charged with two counts of aggravated unlawful restraint, two counts of aggravated assault and two counts of domestic battery bodily harm.

Both men were turned over to McHenry County Jail pending a court appearance.

A 43-year-old Lake in the Hills man could face charges for driving under the influence of alcohol, hit and run, failure to give information, open alcohol in a vehicle and driving under the influence while over.08 following a Sunday incident.

Lake in the Hills police were originally called to the man's home for a domestic disturbance between him and his wife.

When police arrived, the man left in his car and hit a parked car on the street. He was arrested for the drunken driving and hit and run charges and was released on bond.

Tire track damage to the lawn of the golf course was reported Sunday. No one was arrested and the incident is under investigation.

Police also received a report Sunday of jewelry taken from a home in the 200 block of Bridlewood Court. The cost of the items stolen is under $800, Decker said, and the case is pending investigation.
