LITH Man Faces Several Drug Charges

Michael A. Parra, of 9 Wander Way in LITH, was arrested last week following a search of his home.

A 27-year-old Lake in the Hills man has been arrested on several drug charges following a June 28 search of his home, according to a McHenry County Sheriff's Office press release.  

Michael A. Parra, of 9 Wander Way in LITH, faces several drug charges including: unlawful delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a park, unlawful delivery of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a park, unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and unlawful possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.  

He also has been charged with unlawful delivery of marijuana, unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

A search warrant was served on June 28 at 9 Wander Way as a part of an investigation by the narcotics unit and the Lake in the Hills Police Department following complaints regarding the sale of prescription medications and marijuana in LITH. The Intelligence Led Policing Unit and K-9 Unit also assisted with the search. 

Following the search and investigation, police "uncovered" four marijuana-laced suckers, 37.8 grams of marijuana, multiple items of drug paraphernalia, packaging materials, a digital scale, 69 pills of Alprazolam, six pills of Amphetamine and Dextroamphetamine, and three pills of Carisoprodol, according to the news release.

The street value of the drugs recovered is estimated to be around $2,212.00, according to the news release. 

A $75,000 bond has been set for Parra. He is next expected in court on July 9.
