LITH Man Charged With Indecent Solicitation of Child for Craigslist Ad

Jeremy T. Mansfield is charged with two counts of indecent solicitation of a child.

A 20-year-old Lake in the Hills man has been arrested after police said he posted an advertisement on Craigslist for a male companion and then set up a meeting with what he thought to be a 13-year-old boy, according to a Lake County Sheriff's Office press release. 

Jeremy T. Mansifled, of the 400 block of Winslow Way in Lake in the Hills, has been charged with two counts of indecent solicitation of a child. 


Police said a Lake County Sheriff's Office detective responded to Mansfield's add and posed as a 13-year-old boy. A meeting was set up for Sept. 4 where Mansfield was met by Lake County Sheriff's Office detectives, according to the news release. 

Police said Mansfield told detectives he intended to engage in sexual activities with the 13-year-old boy. He also told police he had sex with a 15-year-old girl in Idaho while he was attending college in Washington, according to the news release. 

Mansfield attended college in Washington and recently moved back to Illinois.  He told detectives he had sexual intercourse with a 15 year old girl in Idaho while attending college.  

Mansfield told police he posts advertisements on many websites seeking males or females of any age, according to the news release.

Mansfield's bond has been set at $100,000.  He is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 25, 2013 at 9 a.m.
