A 23-year-old Lake in the Hills man has been charged in connection with the heroin overdose death of a 24-year-old Crystal Lake man.

Sean P. Hopman died on Jan. 30 of a drug overdose. Philip D. Neumann, 23, of 106 Dear Path, Lake in the Hills, was charged Tuesday, Aug. 23, with drug-induced homicide in connection with Hopman's death.

After police and emergency responders attempted to revive Hopman, he was taken to Woodstock Memorial Hospital, where he later died.

During the course of an investigation, police determined that Neumann provided Hopman with the heroin that lead to his death. Police say Hopman facilitated a heroin drug deal with Neumann on Jan. 29, according to the new release.
