LITH Man Accused of Exposing Himself to Area Women

Anthony M. Andrea, also a McHenry County College student, was arrested Monday.

A 21-year-old Lake in the Hills man faces charges for exposing himself to area women in recent weeks.  

Anthony M. Andrea, a McHenry County College student, was arrested at the campus Monday evening only hours after he exposed himself to a 46-year-old woman in the parking lot of Coventry Plaza, 35 Berkshire Drive, according to the Crystal Lake Police Department press release.

He is also accused in two similar incidents that occurred in Crystal Lake on Jan. 25 and Dec. 1.

According to Crystal Lake Police:

  • On Dec. 1, Andrea drove up to a 46-year-old woman in the area of Golf Course and Barlina roads in Crystal Lake, got her attention and then made a lewd or suggestive remark, according to the press release. The woman became uncomfortable by the comment, left the scene and called police.
  • On Jan. 25, Andrea is accused of driving up to a 47-year-old woman in the area of Canterbury Drive and Farringdon Lane. He got the woman’s attention, she approached his car and noticed that he had exposed himself and was masturbating. She immediately walked away and Andrea allegedly fled the scene when she reached to get her phone to call the police.
  • The final incident happened Monday around 4:40 p.m. in the parking lot of Coventry Plaza, 35 Berkshire Drive. There, Andrea approached a 46-year-old woman, got her attention and when she approached his car, she noticed he had exposed himself and was masturbating, according to the release. The woman immediately left the area and was able to get a license plate on Andrea’s car, which she relayed to police. The license plate number, police said in the press release, was crucial to solving this case.

Andrea was charged with two counts of public indecency, disorderly conduct, possession of drug paraphernalia and possess of marijuana in connection with the crimes.

Andrea was released on a $150 bond and is next expected in court on March 1.
