LITH Blotter: Several Vehicle Burglaries Friday Night at Theater; Teen Arrested for Domestic Battery

Lake in the Hills Police Department reports from the past week.

The Lake in the Hills blotter contains basic information on incident and arrest reports provided to Patch.com by the Lake in the Hills Police Department.

An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Jan. 22

10:57 a.m.: Lake in the Hills Police arrested a 16-year-old Lake in the Hills boy in the 100 block of Acorn Lane in Lake in the Hills on two counts of domestic battery. He was turned over to his parents and petitioned into juvenile court. 

Jan. 23

7:12 p.m.: Lake in the Hills Police arrested Shamsher S. Shergill, 40, at Randall and Miller roads in Lake in the Hills for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a blood alcohol content over .08, disregarding a traffic control device, illegal transportation of liquor and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Shergill, of 4731 Princeton Lane in LITH, was later released on bond. 

4:43 p.m.: Lake in the Hills Police responded to Algonquin Road and Hilltop Road in Lake in the Hills for a three-vehicle accident. A 25-year-old woman with a possible concussion was taken to Sherman Hospital. 

Jan. 25

4:53 p.m.: Lake in the Hills Police responded to CVS, 4511 W. Algonquin Road in Lake in the Hills, for a report of a vehicle hitting multiple tress in the parking lot and then leaving the scene. 

10:56 p.m.: Several vehicles were reportedly broken into at the the AMC Theatre, 311 N. Randall Road in Lake in the Hills, Friday night.  

LITH Police initially responded to the theater for a report of items that had been removed from a vehicle. The police department also received the following reports that night: 

  • At 11:12 p.m., police received a report of a driver's window that was broken. 
  • At 11:38 p.m., police received a report of items that were removed from a vehicle.
  • At 11:40 p.m., police received a report of items that had been removed from a vehicle. 

All of the reports were under investigation by the reporting officer. 

Jan. 27

9:22 a.m.: Lake in the Hills Police responded to the 500 block of Windermere Way in Lake in the Hills for a report of a hit and run. A fence was hit by an unknown vehicle at some point overnight. The report was turned over to investigations. 

12:47 p.m.: Police responded to a residence in the 1300 block of Cunat Court for a report of a cell phone that was taken from a home. The report was pending investigation by a reporting officer. 

1:41 p.m.: Lake in the Hills Police arrested Joseph F. Defrancisco, 59, in the first block of Chadwick Court in LITH for disorderly conduct. Defrancisco, of 341 Council Trail, was later released on bond. Police also arrested Joseph F. Defrancisco, 35, and Gino L. Defrancisco, on disorderly conduct charges. The younger Joseph F. Defrancisco, of 4721 Bordeaux Street, and Gino L. Defrancisco, of 341 Council Trail, were also both later released on bond. 

Jan. 28

5:41 p.m.: Lake in the Hills Police responded to Randall Road and Acorn Lane for a report of a four-vehicle accident. A 29-year-old woman who had abdominal pain was taken to Sherman Hospital.
