LITH Police: Fire in Porta Potty, Lightning Strikes Street Lamp

The Lake in the Hills Police Department released incident reports through June 16, 2013.

Woman Sleeping Under Tree

A 20-year-old woman was found sleeping under a tree at 8:11 a.m. Saturday, June 15 in the 300 block of Terramere Lane. She was transported to Woodstock Memorial Hospital.

Car Fire

Lake in the Hills Police assisted the Algonquin-LITH Fire Department with extinguishing a car fire at 4:40 p.m. Saturday, June 15, in the 1300 block of Cunat Court. No injuries were reported. 

Bicycling Injury

Police were called at 11:59 a.m. Friday, June 14, to the area of Anderson and Grace drives where a 58-year-old woman had fallen off her bicycle. The woman did not require transport to a hospital, police said. 

Screws Under Car Tire


A individual reported at 1:35 p.m. Friday, June 14, that he found screws placed under his car tire in the 4100 block of Peartree Drive. 

Possible Animal Abuse

Police were called at 3:03 p.m. Friday, June 14, to the 2600 block of Stanton Court to assist the McHenry County Animal Control workers with a possible animal abuse case. The case remains under investigation.

Fire in Porta-Potty

Police were called at 4:21 p.m. Friday, June 14, to a report that an unknown person lit toilet paper on fire inside a port-a-potty at LeRoy Guy Park, 200 S. Annandale Drive. No injuries were reported. 

Fraudulent Credit Card

Police received a complaint at 8:26 p.m. Friday, June 14, from a homeowner living on Northlight Pass that someone had opened a fraudulent credit card using the resident's information. The case was turned over to investigations. 

Graffiti

Graffiti was found on garage doors in the 1300 block of Cunat Court at 8:17 a.m. Thursday, June 13. 

Bicycle Stolen

An unsecured bicycle was reported stolen at 9:01 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, from Marlowe Middle School, 9625 Haligus Rd. 

Lightning Strikes Street Lamp


A street light was reportedly struck by lightning at 6:19 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, in the 300 block of Steeplechase Way. A work order was placed to repair the light. 

Two People Injured in Car Crash

A two-car accident at Algonquin Road and Dennis Avenue at 5:32 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, sent two people to the hospital. A 21-year-old woman and an infant with head injuries were transported to Sherman Hospital in Elgin.
